Custom Overlays FAQ
What are custom overlays?
The overlays are printed sub surface to an adhesive backed polyester material. This protects the printed layer from damage.
How do we keep our costs down?
The problem with most graphic products is the cutting. To obtain a smooth edge most are die cut or punched. This means that for each overlay a special tool must be produced. The cost of this is usually a one off but can be prohibitive for small volume users. We print our overlays with a 10% border so you can cut them yourself using a scalpel or a cutting knife.
Is the product waterproof?
The overlay itself is waterproof however the edge of the product is not sealed and water can seep in. If this is to be used in a wet environment we recommend that the product is mounted in such a way that the sides are sealed. Please ring us for advice on this.
What is the maximum overlay size?
Currently we can produce a maximum size of 40 cm by 90 cm (0.4 x 0.9 metres).
Can I use my own graphic?
Of course. We can work with a number of formats or help you to produce a graphic to your specifications. The cost for this will depend on the complexity of the item.
How many colours can I have?
You can use as many colours as you want to at no extra charge. There are some colours which do not recreate perfectly on the substrate so we would recommend that before you order you chat to us first.
